Hi! I’m KATE.
I’m so glad you’re here. A lover of language and writing, I hold both an Bachelor’s and a Master’s in English. I am also a National Board Certified teacher with over a decade of experience teaching high school English at highly-competitive public schools.
I’ve taught IB Literature, IB Language and Literature, and honors English courses at all grade levels 9—12, specializing in nurturing my students’ writing skills and analytical abilities. I was assessed as a “Distinguished” teacher each year of my career, and consistently built positive rapport with students based on mutual respect and a collaborative approach. I earned my Bachelors in English at Whitman College in 2011 and my Masters in English with a focus on Postcolonial Theory from the University of Galway in Ireland in 2018, where I managed the Undergraduate Writing Center.
I’m passionate about the timeless beauty and power of literature and language, and about nurturing each client’s authentic voice, driving them toward confident expression.
